Proper names of frame sections?

Can anyone identify or know where to locate them? For example the core support sits on the blank portions of the frame..............They'd come in handy as I take notes of the rebuild. Thank you.

Looking through the GM manuals, there isn't a specific name for any portion of the frame rails. It's pretty generic: chassis, frame, crossmember, brace....

As Lefty said, there is no standard. So, do whatever suits you. As an example, number them as a reference. #1 could be from the front bumper to the front cross member. #2 could be from the front cross member to the firewall/front of cab. #3 from front of cab to back of cab. #4 from back of cab to rear axle. #5 from axle to rear bumper. You can then assign letters within each section if desired. As an example, 1A could be the core support location. Draw sketches if it helps for further definition.

The core support sits on the frame HORN section , relate frame sections to the corresponding parts bolted to it . front suspension , engine ,trans ,trailing arm ,spring perch ,rear bed support ...:chevy:

The crossmember is and does what it sounds like. That is a member that crosses from one rail to the other no matter the job or location say you have a front crossmember, pretty straight forward it goes at the front. The trans crossmember holds up the trans. some cross members have nothing bolted or riveted to them and the are just for structural support.
