** Single Cab Regular Bed Dually Conversion **

Good Evening Fellas,

I must say that this is the best website to look for any type of info regarding GM trucks. I am needing a little bit of help on getting info or threads that can possibly help me with converting my 1990 GMC C1500 Single Cab Short Bed into a Dually Axle, I know I may get criticize on why would I do such a thing...its mostly for looks to make it look different from other common trucks now a days. I came across a picture that so you guys can get an idea of what I am trying to do as you can see by the rear wheel it definitely does not look a wide tire nor dual tires I look forward with any helpful info you guys can provide for me.

Thanks

Get a dually rear n fenders. Front gonna need spacers, not sure if 1 ton rotors/hubs/spindles will bolt on 1/2 ton....

That's exactly what I am looking to do is keeping the c1500 bed without the dually fenders just curious to know if they possibly modified the dually axle for the wheels to be tucked in the regular step side bed

Why not have a set of adapters made? It would cheaper in the long run.

That picture is a regular, non dually step side bed. Go buy a stepside bed, put it on your truck, and you'll have that look. Its not a modification.

There's more to it than just swapping on a sportside bed to get that look. He'll need a narrowed axle to be able to bolt on those reversed semi wheels and get them to tuck.

That's a standard dually axle and with the wheel adapter and reversed dish wheel you'll be about 5" past your body line using his measurements.
You need the 4" narrower cab&chassis axle or narrow a regular 14 bolt IMHO

No, way overkill for 1, 2 it is a 2-speed rear. 3 prolly cant even get parts for it.
