My 67 C10 Custom short bed build

It's been a couple years now since I got involved in the 67-72 trucks and K5 Blazers. Like most of you, I looked for a V8,rust free short bed for under $8-10k but settled for a 67 V8, automatic, C20 for a 1/4 of the price. I did a build thread here documenting its conversion from a 8 lug, drum brake, 3/4 ton, long bed to a 5 lug, disc brake, 1/2 ton short bed. That thread was titled," C20 long bed farm truck to C10 short bed driver". After realizing what kind of time and money I had in to the truck I was forced to sell it shortly after its completion.

Since then I've come to the realization. That my favorite C10 of all is a 67 or 68 short bed fleet side in dark or medium blue with side mouldings and original paint with a good amount of patina. The perfect example of this truck would be "Hazel" by member n2billet.

So, I went to Kansas earlier this year and picked up this 67 C10 Custom long bed.

Inside before with lots of character/clutter. A tore up seat, light green steering wheel, CST horn button, dark blue dash pad.

Interior after. Clutter is gone so is the green steering wheel, replaced by a used "Forever sharp" wheel purchased from a member. Replaced the incorrect dark blue dash pad with the correct medium blue dash pad. I also installed a mid 80's Craigslist $50 bench seat. I cut down the seat mounting brackets and had them welded back together.

Jumped in with both feet here...Ordered rust repair sheetmetal and Goodmark short bed sides for the truck. I have an account with LKQ, so I get free shipping from their Kansas City warehouse. Got everything the next day!

Body and paint work are done. Just need to reinstall interior, hang trim and bumpers.

Nice job! I plan to put the 67 side trim on my jimmy. You still have the green steering wheel?

Looks great! Nice job on the fauxtina. I saw a pic of your truck in another post and didn't even realize it was a shortbed conversion with new bedsides. I'm also doing a shortbed conversion and planning on trying to match the original patina.

It really did turn out nicely! I was browsing Ebay yesterday and am pretty sure I saw this truck listed. Looking to part ways with it???

Unfortunately, I've got too many irons in the fire right now and some toys have to go.
