How do I ship a Hatch and Rear seat?
I know many people here have probably done this, but how do you ship the rear hatch and rear seat (Separately)?
Do you build a box for them from wood? Just wrap them in something then wish them luck? Or do you find a cardboard box? Also, who do you use to ship? I've used Greyhound in the past for large items, but unsure if they's do the rear seat. Any help would be appreciated. I have a post in the WIW that has pictures of the seat and hatch I am looking to ship. |
Re: How do I ship a Hatch and Rear seat?
Greyhound will do a rear seat. I just did a folding blazer seat Montana to Reno for 90 bucks. 60 lbs plus box. I've done nonfolding seats too and just shrink wrapped them. I think if you have college or military id it's like 50% less. Matt

Re: How do I ship a Hatch and Rear seat?
ok, I shipped a seat that I had unbolted the back and bottom on, but that was fairly easy and I had access to a correct size box. This time it is a non-folding seat. So if I just shrink wrap it it should be sufficient for Greyhound to transport? do I add extra protection to it anywhere?

Check FEDEX too, they usually give the best rate on larger boxed items.

No longer need to worry about this. Sold them both locally today, but this is good reference for others.
