Shocks for rear axle flip
Ì have installed a rear axle flip on my 55 TF and I'm looking for what shocks others have installed. Have you used the stock upper mounts or made your own? For lower mounts, are they welded to the axle? Mounted inside or outside of the frame.
Pictures would help and if you know what brand and part number for shocks, that would be a GREAT help. Thanks |

Re: Shocks for rear axle flip
You may need slightly shorter shocks to compensate for the distance that they were below the spring when the axle was below the spring. That is if you decide that it might bottom out the stock shocks when you have it all back together.
Study the photos that Ogre posted in the thread in the link that 1958Warrier posted above. The photos in post 7 and post 9 give all the answers without a lot of confusing words. Simply you can see that the lower spring perches are closer to the level of the bottom of the springs now and with your flip kit they may be closer yet. |
