Where do I look to get parts for my 1967 c40?

Where do I look to get parts for my 1967 c40? I need brake wheel cylinders and master cylinder which is a single pot wheel bearings, steering box, rubber brake hoses... Wanting to get all the important stuff redone before my new drive train goes in but have looked all over and its like they don't exist when I go to look for parts..

It may take a little while, but some should be jumping in soon.

If not, I can direct you to another board where one guy in particular is pretty good with parts like what you are looking for.

For the brake parts: http://www.alretta.com You should be able to get wheel bearings at any decent auto supply that still knows how to open a book. If you can't find a good auto parts store then pull an example bearing, clean it up and take it to a bearing supply company, they can look it up from the numbers stamped into it. For steering, the wear parts like tie rods should be available at an auto supply, the steering box... that will be a bit more of a challenge.

Good luck.

If you can cross the numbers on the wheel cylinders and master cylinder your best bet may be to find them online. I found the front wheel cylinders for my GMC 5000 online, cheeper than any parts store/warehouse and still a good product.

Is your steering box junk or are you looking to rebuild it?

It has play in it pretty good and is a manual box. I am actually leaning towards a late model truck rack-n-pinion since im going to a 5.3 ls and th400. ditching the 292 granny4

It's as if I just posted the same exact words in my build thread. How have you done in finding parts? Mine is a 1968 c40 I'm so freaking frustrated right now. Thanks for any input.

MC with manual brakes, single reservoir 130.80006
Front left WC 7/8" bore 134.80011
Front right WC 7/8" bore 134.80010
Rear upper WC 1 1/2" bore 134.80013
Rear lower WC 1 1/2" bore 134.80014
Front brake hose 150.80013

Couldn't find a listing for the rear hose. Don't know how I missed this thread lol. I used to work at an old school parts store and people in this area are still using these old medium duty GM trucks around here, late '60's to mid '80's. They had some extra catalogs and gave me a few when I left for another job.

EDIT/UPDATE: So u decided to err on the side of caution and call this place to make sure they are the correct ones. The sales rep tells me " oh I'm so sorry we haven't carried these parts for a year." I said in my most calm voice you might want to remove them from the site then. The search continues. 👿

Hey Bill thanks no I didn't. I just checked and replied to them before responding to your message here. I have to look at my settings on that site I didn't get any notification. I found the cylinders on another site and ordered them. Only then to read 3B's post that there were SEVERAL brake options for those years..lol.I hope I order the correct ones..

Re: Where do I look to get parts for my 1967 c40?

Yeah, no notifications over there that I know of. You just need to check it on it. Hopefully you will have the right ones. If not, 3B is one of, if not "the" best on locating hard to find parts and part numbers. For anyone interested in where we are talking about, it is at Stovebolt.com in the "Big Bolt" forum.
