Garage ceiling and lighting?

What is everyone doing for ceiling finish and lighting in there garages?

I actually do lighting design and packages for large commercial and industrial jobs at work everyday, but am curious what you have all done for personal garages?

At work I have access to many led drivers, and led diodes, strips etc.
I was thinking of making homemade led 8' fixtures.

I have a 24x32 garage with a Ridgebeam roof. Exposed truss/joints. Drywall ed walls.
I am debating on painting the entire ceiling, including the open trusses etc.
It's between that and drywalling it.

What did you all do?

My garage is an attached 24x26, with 15' ceiling, insulated and rocked with two 8' fluorescent lighting fixtures. Everything is white so the lighting is very good

My shop is 60'x50' with 15' high ceilings painted white. Last winter I replaced most of the 8' fluorescent t12 with 6 bulb t5 lights. Wow, what an improvement in brightness with the new lights.

My main shop is 35x50 12ft walls open truss ceiling and I have 6 2bulb 8ft h.o. fluorescents that I got at lowes..very bright..exposed ceiling is white...that's a big factor is the white ceiling is reflective..

40 x 60 with 16' ceiling. I used roof metal on the ceiling and a mixture of 4 bulb and 6 bulb T5 light fixtures. You need at least 12' of height for the T5 fixtures to be effective 14' is even better

16' eaves, metal building w/insulation - t5's

inside build out - 10' ceilings, white drywall, t8's
no complaints

My shed has the foil faced foam on the ceiling. I have 2 lamp 4ft lights hanging around the perimeter between the trusses, which are 9 foot on center. Then light the shed up just fine. I'm planning on adding just a couple more in the middle of the shed to help with some shadowing. The lights were around $10-$15 at Menards, depending on sale price. The t8 bulbs cost just about as much as the fixtures.

I'm an electrician, so needless to say, I've intstalled numerous types of fixtures. The best bang for the buck, is a parabolic high bay fixture, if you want to light things up. I went a little cheap in my garage, but I'm happy with the results.

I run these in my 30x40 garage. Best deal on the market.

I have 3 videos on my YouTube channel of these.

i think you will find that drywall and insulation is the norm in snow country
install lots of switched outlets in the ceiling that way keeping up with technology is a matter of plugging in the new tech :D

If anyone ended up with one of these beasts under the tree, it was a good year. I basically have no need for any of my air impacts anymore. I need to pick up the 3/8 impact next for tighter jobs.

Sorry. Just realized I posted this in the wrong thread.

I'm having a 24 X 25 tubular steel shop built with 12' at the eaves. I'm looking at lighting options. I was planning on spray foam insulation for the underside of the roof, but it will not be very reflective.

Got any pictures of your LED setup? Thanks.

LINK HERE to my BLOG to see the shop build progress.

Another aspect to consider is the color rendering index(cri) try to get into the 90's, i've thrown all warm white lights 3000k (K=kelvin scale) away throughout the house and garage and replaced with 5000k lights. Colors look more real now, close to sunlight. From memory 4400k i think is sunlight so the 5000k cast a very slight blue hue.
