Wow! $75k for a Blazer. New record? http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Event...-K5-SUV-198537

No SPID :(

That is a nice looking truck no doubt $75K, wowzers. I guess it just depends on who is there and what they are looking for. Usually top dollar on any restoration means matching numbers and 100% correct factory details. My untrained eye sees a few things incorrect in just the few pictures posted but minor stuff. I'm sure it will turn heads though going down the street. Congratulations to the new owner. I too wish the spid was posted to see what it left the factory looking like. Maybe we will get lucky and the new owner is a forum member or will become a forum member and we may get to see some more pictures of it in the future.

'Bout time K5s got some love at a major classic auto auction. It makes me grit my teeth to see Broncos and now IHCs getting so much attention while our classic (and much better IMHO) 4WDs don't.

That would be nice but.........someone who would pay that kind of money...probably will park it in a climate controlled building along side other collectible vehicles and never drive it anywhere.....

I'm dumbfounded. I'm just glad I bought my Blazer when I did. They're getting ridiculously expensive even for rusted-out ones that don't run.

Re: Barrett-Jackson Highlander

In January of this year at the Scottsdale Barret-Jackson, I saw a '71 that looked to be a disassemble and repaint job go for 32k. The very little attention to detail that went into the build was evident by the non-fitted aftermarket replacement sheet metal and mis-alignment of body lines, also the rattle can frame paint job. It just gave me more pride in my build knowing that I will be able to get more than I have invested including my hours on my build should I decide to sell it.

That's awesome, I agree that it's about time they come up in value like the Broncos. My 71 bronco doesn't hold a candle to the factory build quality of my 72 blazer.

Makes me happy to have a well optioned highlander in my garage :)
