Do '55-'65 armrests fit 1966?
I am picking up some new armrests for my '66 on my lunch break today and would like to use the better looking older style arm rests. Classic Parts lists the older style for '55-'65 models, and the cheesy newer style (like mine originally came with) for '66-68.
Since the door panels (including mounting holes) appear to be identical from '64 to '66, I presume the older armrests would bolt right up. Can anyone verify that for certain? I don't wanna spend extra money on rests that won't even fit. |

Lots of views, but not a single answer... so I'll answer it myself. They fit totally fine.

Thanks Rust-O-Matic. I haven't got that far on my stuff yet. Good to know for down the road.

My cab aint got any arm rests, or even places to install any. Do they bolt to the door panel from the back & then install on the door?

No. There are square holes in the door itself to accept 1/4"-20 cage nuts. Then the door panel needs 3/8"-1/2" holes drilled for the 1.4"-20 screws to pass thru.
