Rear coil ID

I was measuring the tire gap on my newly acquired 70 today. I was surprised to find out the it front and rear measure the same. I looked underneath to see if there were drop blocks or something indicating aftermarket coils. Instead, I find that the middle 2 coils are touching each other. Is this typical or is it same to assume that they have been heated?

Most likely they were heated if the truck sits level & 2 coils are making contact w/one another.
