Narrow tailgate banner fit on newer tailgate
 

I have a narrow tail gate banner that I would like to put on my 75 C10 that currently has an 87 box and tail gate with the wide banner. I know the tail gate is different but will the narrow banner fit on the 87 tail gate using the same attachment holes and fit the contours okay.

Comments are appreciated.

okay after a quick search it seems that the narrow banner doesn't fit well on the ends.
I will test fit my piece and see what "doesn't fit well" means.

Does not fit from my previous trial when looking for a used tailgate when I built my truck. Wound up getting a new tailgate made for the 73-80 bed to be able to fit my narrow band.

Okay it is pretty clear the narrow band will not work. The sunken area in the 81-87 tailgate where the band would go is not really wide enough for the band to sit flat (think left to right or drivers to pass side). Without severely bending the narrow band or cutting into the gate and modifying it, the easiest route is use an earlier tail gate. I have opted to use an earlier gate and will install after paint.
Now to resurrect the slightly damaged narrow band. Is it sinful to put a Chevrolet band over a GMC tailgate?
