Chim's 67 SWB
Hey everyone, got a hold of a nice 67 SWB just a couple days ago :) I actually acquired this truck through a trade for my 65 Chevelle. My Chevelle was all original and I was looking for something more hot rod style that I could upgrade and change and not feel bad about it. The truck was listed a few thousand dollars more than my car but he loved the Chevelle and was cool doing a straight across trade so I drove it home Sunday evening.
Truck has a Summit 350/ 350hp crate engine with only a few hundred miles on it. Its an original manual shift on the floor truck and now has a Richmond Super T10 close ratio 4-speed. Rear end is a Dana 44 with 4.10 gearing and Posi-trac. All new painless wiring and fuse block. New glass, rubber, stainless, interior, custom dash and other stuff. My initial plans are to drive it! But here are some future ideas: disc brake/ 5-lug T56 6-speed trans Gas tank relocation to rear Lighting upgrades and whatever else comes to mind or from other peoples builds as inspiration. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/7e...=w1200-h900-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/5M...=w1200-h900-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/uf...=w1200-h900-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ov...=w1200-h900-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/oz...w1335-h1001-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/px...w1335-h1001-no And then the pic of the Chevelle I traded. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_Y...w1335-h1001-no |

Re: Chim's 67 SWB
Very nice truck!! I'm a chevelle guy too and I dig the 65 as well!

Re: Chim's 67 SWB
Thanks guys! I drove it to work for the first time this morning and it did great! It was really foggy and I had to be careful cause with this gearing and trans it really wants to break the tires loose. Still fun though!

Re: Chim's 67 SWB
Cool truck.
As far as the duct routing I don't know but you could use LMC website for I diagram. That's why I use them. |

Good idea thanks! Looks like it bends up to the dash :) |
Re: Chim's 67 SWB
It's good when trades work out. Looks like a nice Chevelle too. I'm partial to Chevelles. I have a 68 SS.

Re: Chim's 67 SWB
Dam nice '65! And very nice '67!
That diagram Chim posted is for an A/C truck...since you do not have A/C, yours is different. I believe yours goes to the drivers side defroster vent. |
Re: Chim's 67 SWB
I drove the truck most of the day this last Saturday and now I have a list of small things I need to work on: Speedo is noisy.. need to see if its cable or gauge, heater knob broke off, not sure if heat is even working, blinkers stopped working but hazzards work (hopefully a relay?) and it still needs brakes!

Re: Chim's 67 SWB
I've always been a big fan of the 65 Chevelle, but i'm a Chevy C10 man first! Good trade, I would have done the same thing!
