How much drop is that? Looks good

Iron-Butt 10-11-2003 11:21 AM

Front 2 1/2 in spindles with 2 inch lower springs.
Rear 4 inch lower springs

ItsNotABlazer 10-11-2003 09:18 PM

Wow that looks really nice. Are those Impala SS wheels? What brand parts did you use for the drop?

Brad

Only 4" in the rear. My longbox didn't drop that far. What brand of springs are you running? What do you have for power, SB? I'm wedging a 402 in my Shorty and want it a tad lower.

Iron-Butt 10-12-2003 07:24 AM

they are ss impala wheels with kumho estca stx tires. 255/50/17.

I used early classis springs. 2 inch in front and 4 inch in the rear.
the drop spindles are mcgaughy that I ordered from gmcpauls.
all I need now is the correct set of shocks. then its up to Kansas City to change out the I-6 for a 350 v8 and air conditioner insalled. Then the truck will be painted Prowler Blue with some kind of Flames (?)

That looks killer! I sure wish I had a set of those wheels for my '84....corn

zenish 01-07-2004 09:08 PM

are the impaulas 5 on 5 or are you using adapters?

Tx Firefighter 01-08-2004 01:52 AM

Impalas are 5 on 5. The wheels are cheap too.

Tx Firefighter 01-08-2004 01:53 AM

David, were you ever able to do anything with those shock numbers I gave you?

The truck looks very nice.

Iron-Butt 01-09-2004 09:04 PM

No. I could not find any cross over numbers. So I measured from center eye to eye. I went to the local Auto Zone. I looked in the specs book until I found shocks that would match. $92.00 later I had four shocks that would work.

The ride is great and the truck just got back from a 1200 mile trip to pick up its new heart (93 model gm goodwrench crate motor). A 305 with about 10,000 miles on it.

corn 01-12-2004 03:41 AM

That drop really makes that truck look killer....how much would be too much when buying a set of impala wheels?
