Interesting Radio Face Question
1 Attachment(s)
My wife is at the bar with the girls, my son is at grandma's house. :D Got some time to work out in the garage with out any disrations (sp) ! :p anyway I got this old radio that works I think I am going to test after this post ! Anyway here is my questions !
Here i have in the pic below the face of a stock radio ! What is the material that it is made up of? How do I get the plastic number part out ? I was thinking of powder coating it to see how it would come out ! So any help would be great ! Thanks Landon |
The metal part appears to be chrome plated "pot metal."
Pot metal, I just discovered thanks to dictionary.com is: An inexpensive alloy of poor quality, usually containing lead, used especially in making castings: cheap jewelery made from plated pot metal. |
Thanks for the input ! :p I am taking it in pritty soon to see but i still need to get the number face off !:D

I *think* there are two little springy type clips that hold it on. There should be two studs, one on each end of the plastic lense. Then again, I'm speaking from the experience I had with the radio in my old 66 Chevy, so I could be wrong.
Good luck. |
