Dropped the 79 Big 10 need backspace help

Got the 79 big 10 dropped and in need of some 20x9s. Going with a 20x9 and 255/45/20. Not worried about rubbing as I will fab taller inner fenders in the front. Saw another truck with mob steel wheels 20x9 with 4.5" of backspace on all four corners. Anyone else have backspace suggestions for a 20x9 in the front. Basically I want to be able to rotate tires, don't care about offset wheels front to back, rather them be all the same.

Your current rally wheels are a 15x8 with a 4" backspace.
So if those fit ok,... the equivalent 20x9 wheel would have a 5" backspace.

Personally on 73-87 trucks I would run a staggered wheel size to help hide the wider front track width.
My choice would be:
FRONT:
20x8.5 (5.25"-5.5" BS)

REAR:
20x10 (5.5" BS)
Just my opinion,...

The drop in case others want to know....
Western chassis 2.5" spindles and 2" coils
Belltech rear flip kit, didn't use c notch yet
Bell tech drop shocks 4" and 6"

Got 4.5" out of the front, and I think 6.25" from rear. There is about 3" between the rear axel and frame still. And truck is leveled at 26.5" to the center of each fender well.

So given those measurements your saying the trail is 3" wider in the front than the rear? Since your adding another 1.5" offset to each rear wheel in extra rim width....
I could run. 20x10 but then need to run like a 265 or 275/45-20 on the rear and 255 on the front. And I think the 255-275 widths are hard to find in the same tire.
I wish I could see an example on others wheels and backspace measurements as I don't want to order the wrong custom setup.

Let me ask this why do so many c10 owner have so much backspace in the front thus the front wheels look like they are 3" inside the front fender? My 2001 Sierra 20x9s were flush with fender and tucked with bumps. So why so much backspace and narrow rims on the front of c10s? Am I missing something?

Sorry the c10 with mob steel wheels was 20x9 with 4" bs on front and 20x11 with 5" bs on the rear. Wheels look flush with sheetmetal...but tuck. Wonder if I should just stick with that measurement, or will it not turn?

I like 255/40 and 295/40 tires for 20" wheels.
Toyo Proxie II is a brand that carries those sizes.
Otherwise run a 255/40 and a 275/40.

I like the track width equal to or narrower in the front than the rear.
These are sizes I like for 73-87 trucks with fleetside beds.
Stepside beds are totally different.
As are 67-72 fleetside and stepside trucks.
These are numbers I use by the LOOK that I like.

I will look into tires, but there's no way I'm running a 40 series I just think it looks too small on a full size truck with 20s. Plus the diameter is smaller than stock, and that seems counter intuitive to go bigger rim smaller tire to then fill less of a huge fender well.

So does anyone have any pics similar to this...

Front 20x9 with 5" BS with 265/45-20
Rear 20x10 with 5" BS with 275/45-20

I want to see different Backspacing mostly front.

So I ordered the wheels... Detroit Steel Smoothie Raw, later powder coated black. In a 20x9 on all corners. And possibly some Nitto 420s tires, not sure yet.

20x9 Detroit Steel
5.5" BS on Front
4.5" BS on Rear

With Some 29" Tall
255/45/20
285/40/20
