Stepside Fenders
2 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone,
I'm new on this forum after fisiting a lot lately. I didn't know this forum had a 60-66 thread also. I have a '64 short stepside for about 8 years. Start working on it three years ago to get it licensed for the dutch road. Whem I bought the truck I tought I had a pretty original truck. But after learning a lot on this forum I figured out some things are changed. It has a period correct 194 CI line 6 out of a Chevy II. I also figured out that the rear fenders are not correct. It seams they are from a '67 model year. If I look at other 60-66 trucks on the net you see this more. Is it possible that after the '67 model came out GM didn't produced the older style fenders anymore? Something like the 60-61 hoods? |
Re: Stepside Fenders
I wouldn't believe that.
In fact I wouldn't believe the bed side holes would line up, or the steps for that matter. So you may have a whole bed that is a 67. Just an opinion though. Mark-K shows two different part numbers for the 66 and 67 short stepside. |
Re: Stepside Fenders
Good looking truck no matter what Fenders she has.

Re: Stepside Fenders
Ok. I always thought that the beds itself where the same for decades except for the fenders. Never to old to learn something

Re: Stepside Fenders
Nice truck!....A 194? I would have thought at least a 250! lol

Re: Stepside Fenders
Thanks. I also have a 250CI out of a '65 Impala that I want to built in. But I have to look how the condition is of that engine. I already saw there is a crack in the intake near the carburetor.

Re: Stepside Fenders
Hey greetings from Mississippi! That's a pretty truck you got there. When my son was in Civil Air Patrol his squadron hosted some exchange cadets from CAP in the Netherlands one summer. They had a big time here! I took them coon hunting & catfishing one weekend. How the heck do you pronounce "Noordwijkerhout" anyway???

Re: Stepside Fenders
Welcome to the forum :D
Nice looking '64 you have. I would have to agree that the entire bed has been changed at some time. The correct stepside bed and fenders for your truck were used from 1955 thru 1966. |
Re: Stepside Fenders
Hey andyh1956. Just try Google translate . It's a village in the middle of the "bollenstreek". Between the flowerbulb fields.
