Engine Compartment AC Generator

Years ago I worked with a guy that had full AC outlets under his hood.
We could run some basic power tools off it for construction jobs off the grid.
It wasn't an inverter, it was a pretty good size generator.
We loose our power a lot where I live. But I'd also like to have it for running power tools in the field.
Any ideas on how to set something like that up for our trucks?

It seems to be along the lines of what you're looking for. They're not cheap, though. They start at $884.
