1986 Dually with Cummins
 

Ok so I traded my 72 Jimmy for cash and a 1986 Chevy Dually reg cab two wheel drive with a cummins swapped in it. I am unsure at this time what I want to do to this truck. i wouldn't know what to ask for it if i sell it. I am 6' 7"
tall so it is not real comfortable especially having to shift. The interior needs work and the truck could use a paint job, it is rattle canned now, and the interior needs some help. It is presentable as it is but could be much better. The Engine is out of a 1990 Dodge pickup and it has the Getrag 5 speed that is all I know about it. I have driven it about 300 miles in the last couple of days and it runs and drives great, I just not sure what I should do with it.

Depends how they swapped in the cummins what its worth,If it was done right you could get 6k to 8k or more for it because of the engine swap.If its a home made hack job then maybe half that.It all really depends the market where you live.

Around here I think 5 would be the most you could get for it, is not 4wd and it has a rotary pump hot air engine with a getrag, the least desirable combo

The swap was done by a professional mechanic who owned it at that time. It needs to be cleaned up but it looks like it belongs there

I think you should keep it and clean up that engine, wow its nasty! Sweet swap though, certainly unique.

Having done a Cummins swap myself, I wouldn't mind having that truck,
the 6bt is a great motor.
I could see where being 6'7" tall would make it a bit uncomfortable though.

Pull the crossover & grind the "Dodge" offa it. Then pull the rocker covers, bead blast them & the crossover & then clear coat them. That makes any Cummins look a lot better! Nice truck it should be a lot of fun to drive!

The only things I would do, is clean up the interior, and get a paint job. I would also add some badges to the fenders, since I am an extreme purist. It is a nice truck to play around with.

It's been listed on Dallas C-list. Not sure if it's still there or not.
