71 c10 cab removal
If anyone has ideas with great dimensions and schematics on a frame dolly to set the cab on for moving and work on. Also is you have one for an attachment to a engine lift to get it off the frame and move would be great. Will a 2 ton engine lift be strong enough to lift it. This is my very first tear down and rebuild green horn as you would say. I have a 1971 c10 that was my grandfather it has some rust to repair and I would like to put a 350 in it. All it has is 250 straight 6. My 8 y/o son is helping me and learning with me since one day it will be his. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure if they are still available but he has a email listed on the last page. These are plans for the tilting cab dolly and one man cab lift. |

Re: 71 c10 cab removal
I use an engine hoist and a 4x4 as far as lifting the cab, no fancy contraption needed. ;)
and you know you are not supposed to start a build thread without pics, right ? :chevy: |

Re: 71 c10 cab removal
I want to take the bed completely apart to work on alot easier but bolts are so rusted pb blaster didn't even work. I guess I'm going to have to cut them off.

To remove the carriage head bed bolts, set your 1/2" impact to forward position & snap them off
