southern rods air condition
Has anyone put a southern rods and parts air condition system in their truck? If so, how hard was it, and how good does it work?

Re: southern rods air condition
Do they have a kit specific to the 73-87 GM pickups?

I have put in several at least 10, both the all electric and the vacuum controlled units, just never in a square. They work great just make sure you have the room. The new maxi 5 looks interesting if it would fit. http://www.southernrods.com/a-c-and-...unit-only.html

Re: southern rods air condition
There are other companies out there that make direct bolt in kits for the 73-87 GM Trucks. They may cost a little more but will save you time and headaches over a universal make it fit kit.
Vintage Air offers an all electronic kit designed specifically for the 73-87 Chevy and GMC Trucks. The kit includes a new electronic control that goes into the stock location and will tie into all your existing vents if the truck had factory ac. The non factory air truck kits include the reproduction vents to go into the dash. Just another option for you. www.vintageair.com |

What about the 508 compressor Southern sells? Can it be used with in place of the original A6? It looks similar to a Sanden. I'm planning on replacing all my a/c components with new since the system hasn't ran in at least 20 years.
