Wanted: hugger orange cowl, original paint only
 

I'm looking for a very nice, original Hugger orange paint cowl. Must have nice paint and no extra holes drilled in it. I know it's a long shot, but worth asking I guess.

Paint code should be 524 one year only '71 I believe.

It is paint code 524 as a solid color. Could be listed as red-orange on the SPID

Okay. Yea this is a '69. I thought mine had a bit more orange to it then the one you posted. Just thought I'd see. Good luck on the find!

Hey Joe, I guess this is why they say timing is everything? I have a '71 original paint hugger orange Blazer that's been in storage for about 15yrs. I started restoration on it this past summer. About 2 weeks ago I saw the cowl in the rafters and had it media blasted along with a lot of other parts. I have plenty of nice cowls and could have used any of them, but said what the heck, its part of the original blazer.

They had hugger orange from 69-72, so yours might be the correct color

If you look close, you can see 524 scribbled on one side of firewall and hugger orange on other side. All the color charts I have list hugger orange color as one year only, 1971 for trucks? I'm going to check hugger orange against red orange paint formula to see what the difference is. I think either will look great.

Ya, sold the camper and the Harley same day I listed them. Buying a commercial building to make in to a "Man Cave" for when I retire in a few months :)

Was just wondering on the cowl, I may have another in a couple weeks if that one does not work out for ya.
