Starter motor

Good morning!
Now that I soon got my 350 transmission installed, I need to get a new starter.
I need tips on which one I should bye. My motor is a 305 smallblock.

you will have to check your engine block it has either a staggerd or strait bolt pattern and also the tooth count on the flywheel but you can get one of those mini high torque starters that will fit either

Re: Starter motor

Was your original starter bolted to the engine block or the bell housing? and what diameter flex plate do you have

If I recall right it was bolted in the block. I have 168 teeth.
Will 3hp be enough, do you think?
The truck is supposed to be driven only in the summer as a cruiser.

168 tooth or the 14'' plate will take the same starter as the 350 with the diagonal mounting bolts
