72 3/4 ton spring question

Do these springs look alright? They are under a 72 3/4 ton burb. Two of the coils are actually touching each other and there is no load in the back. Makes me think they have been heated to lower the truck which isn't at all safe. What are your thoughts? Do they look like they have been heated or is this what they are supposed to be like? Thanks

My 69 C/20 Custom Camper rear spring. Mine are practically touching. Stock.

They are variable rate springs and that is just how they look. Yours look fine. Especially if the are original 45 year old springs. My brand new Moog springs look exactly the same when installed.
