Hidden message
 

I'm in the process of restoring a 72 Jimmy and found this message on the floor between the seats.

"HELP CC TO THE NUT HOUSE"

This appears to have been under the original paint as some letters didn't show up until I ran over it with a bit of sand paper and prep&etch. I got a kick out of it...Almost don't want to cover it up lol.

Anyone else find some Easter eggs from the factory?

That one is pretty "free expression".

Usually the marks pertain to the build in some way, but I have seen a few that were lunch orders, tallys of "numbers" for their "bookie" or love notes to ladies in the trim area.

There was a worker in the Pontiac community named "Linda" who was famous for signing her name on the back of the glovebox.

This thread is so cool. After I followed all the links by Keith Seymore and the VIN decoder I found out that my 72 was built in Flint. On my title the model says HSCR. I found out that that is for "house car". Anyone ever heard of that? My guess is for lower registration fees.

my 1st 71 is listed as a station wagon by the DMV my 70 was listed a s pick up. DMV's didnt know what to classify the blazers as when they first came out

That is a really cool and unique find! It's stuff like this that shows up here and there that helps keep the human element of these trucks alive. I can just image those guys goofing around on the production line having a good time while building your truck when one of them wrote that. I bet they never thought it would be uncovered! That find reveals a story that is unique to your truck alone, I would preserve it if I could.
