Correcting Chevy Lean on my 72
Hey guys one of the issues Ive had putting the truck back together is the infamous chevy lean. I sit one inch higher on the passenger rear but the front is level. Can I just install a 1" lowering block on the passenger rear between the axle and trailering arm?

Do I HAVE to go to a frame shop? That just sounds expensive...

Re: Correcting Chevy Lean on my 72
Are your springs in good shape? I would rule everything else out first. Sometimes one spring might be weaker than the other.

Subscribed for more info on this. I found on mine to measure the spring under load to the other rear spring. Mine was 3/4 shorter compressed. Tried new springs with same results. Added 1 inch steel block on top of spring and was perfect also no more rear wheel hop on hard launch.

There are shops that RE-arc and DE-arc springs....Careful Check the shops work this is an ART not a Science.
Each leaf is done individually by hand on a press Check the shops that have been around for 50 years |

I had the same issue , I put a 1 inch lift ring under the drivers coil spring

Re: Correcting Chevy Lean on my 72
I'm told it's not uncommon for these trucks to sit slightly uneven left to right. It was the case with mine after I installed new (ECE) coils. A 1/2 block under one of the rear coils corrected it for me.

My 2 cents.....
I was distraught after putting in all new ECE suspension and found my truck leaning pretty hard. I lowered it 6" so it was even more noticeable than before. My cousin is a body guy, and he was able to find the spot on the frame that was tweaking the truck. We jacked it up, and put a jackstand in that spot and let it sit overnight. It went from an inch and a half off to less than a quarter inch. |
