Wanting to keep the 6 bolt hub look
I'm working on a 1968 C/10 Panel Truck that has had the drum brake front suspension swapped out with a 1974 C/10 disc brake power steering front suspension. I would like to swap the 1974 5 bolt hubs back to the 1968 6 bolt hubs and am wondering if anyone has done this and what parts would fit?
Thank you! |
Re: Wanting to keep the 6 bolt hub look
I don't remember who but someone makes six lug rotors ... Is that what you are thinking?

I installed a front disk brake kit on my 67 Burb. The kit from Classic Performance Products uses 1971 to 87 C10 components. I selected to go with the 6-bolt rotors because my rear axle is 6-bolt. The rotors I have are probably exactly the ones that you need.

Thank you all! I have ordered a kit from Mcgaughys.
I'll post pics as soon as I receive them and get them installed! |

Re: Wanting to keep the 6 bolt hub look
Not absolutely sure of the year on this front end, it's the one I removed from a 68 Panel Truck I'm working on. Not sure because this truck has had the front half of it's frame replaced at some point.
But here are the pics of the brake lines/ hoses. |

Ok so how do I add photos? Can't we make this easy in today's modern everyone has a cell phone with a camera world?

Re: Wanting to keep the 6 bolt hub look
I bought the complete McGagheys kit. Spindles and brake. It came with the brake hoses. Sounds like yours already has that stuff that works (the later model lines were possibly swapped in with the crossmember ) . You should be able to swap rotors (with new pads) and be good to go. If you get McGaghey's spindles, you'll need to know what ball joints you have or replace with what fits the spindle.

Re: Wanting to keep the 6 bolt hub look
I bought a six lug front conversion kit from performance online. It came with Wilwood calipers and cross drilled slotted rotors.
