Help with wheel size

3 Attachment(s)
I am on the verge of ordering some 15"x8" Polished Torque Thrust II wheels for my 72. I want to make sure that they will fit. I took a front wheel off and measured the following using a straight edge across the wheel rim and a tape measure. Here is what I got as close as I could figure:
Backspace (flat part of hub to rim on back of wheel) = 3 1/2"
Offset (center of wheel hole thickness to rim on front of wheel) = 3 7/8"

The wheels that I am looking at are 3.79" back space and -18mm offset. (See picture)

Do you see an issue with the fitment of these Torque Thrust wheels? My primary concern is the front. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Entered the following:
Tire size = 265/50 R15.
Rim size = 8"
What would I enter in the offset box?
Thanks for the help

Re: Help with wheel size

try to find an offset that equals whatever backspacing you are looking at on the diagram...example on an 8 inch wheel, 0 offset usually comes up to 4.5 inch backspacing...and the offset in your pic up there is -18

and as I sit here and think about it....I have a set of TTO 15x8.5 with that exact backspacing on my truck now and I bought a set of 18x8 with the same backspace....both fit fine

Are those wheels in pic the AR Outlaw II models perhaps?

I don't want to hijack your question, but there are SO many more choices for tires in 17" it seems crazy not to move up. I know on the front of my 69, the zero offset 17x8 would rub on the tie rod if it was a zero offset 15x8 (4.5" backspace).

235 55 17 on a 17x8 zero offset is a great setup that looks awesome IMO and fills the wheel well much better than any of the 15" choices.

Thanks for the help. Have an appointment on Friday with a guy who will get me straightened out.

There are a ton of 15 inch wheel tire combos in this thread that fill the wheel well quite nicely.
