Slammed 63 gmc c20

Hello all. I am new to this forum but from what I can tell you guys rock. Enough of the add kissing and into my point. I have just picked up a sweet 63 gmc c20, v6/305. 8 lug. Here is my dream for this old girl. Slammed and bagged but want it done the right way. I'm aware I need to c notch and that's about it... I've lowered plenty of s10 in my day but C20 is a first. I want to lower it as much as possible now until I get all the parts to slam it. 1st question. How can I lower this girl as much as possible on a budget without tearing shot up too bad. *grocery getter not a long road driver* 2nd question. What do I need to slam it besides the c notch, air ride kit. The front I'm still confused besides spindles but will that be an even lower IE level? Any input will help and greatly appreciated. I'm also looking for a stock radio that fits that truck. Converting it to mp3 to be more rad!!! Thanks again guys!

Is it leaf or coil in rear?

Leaf springs. Also another question. There is stock wheels on it now and when I slam it I want detroit steels on there. 20's maybe. I'm thinking I would have to tub the wells? Correct?

If your talking budget build then you need to forget about those wheels and tires. Get it safe, get it running and enjoy it like it is, save some $ and make a plan to do some smaller jobs while you drive and enjoy. Other wise your probably going to loose intrest and sell at a loss.

Welcome to the forum :D

What is working against you from the start is that you are starting with a C20 and not a C10. I do not know of a lower balljoint that will press into those C20 lower control arms and accept a C10 dropped spindle. But then again, I have never attempted what you are doing either. There may be something out there that I am not aware of.

Maybe I worded that incorrectly. The end result isn't going to be budget. The temp lowering of the truck is budget. I've already got 2 Steelie wheelies on order. Yes they are not cheap. Just looking to lower this girl till all my parts come in if that makes sense.

www.performanceonline.com sells C20 drop spindles.
They aren't cheap.
Probably because they don't sell as many.

Back to the OP's question.
Cheap and good lowering jobs don't go together.
You will need a flip kit, drop shocks, drop spindles, drop coils or cut coils up front, and a c-notch at a minimum,... for your average 5/7 static drop.
To get your truck lower will require much more work and much more money,...

This is a 67-72 style c20 drop,... using quality components.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=691739

The front will be the same,... and the rear will be different.
I know it's bagged,... but a lot of the same stuff applies.
It's a good thread.
