Silverado restoration in Finland
 

Hello!
Here are a few pictures of our Chevrolet Silverado 6,2d fleetside long bed 1984. We (me and my brother) owned it about 13 years and last summer we started to restoration. Sorry about my bad english, but I hope that all understand what I mean.

Mr. Fin, thank you for sharing your project. Don't worry about your English, you are communicating well. You guys are doing some really nice and thorough work. It's cool to know of a truck being restored over there. I have been to Denmark Norway and Sweden and I'm surprised by the American vehicles. But I don't ever remember seeing a full-size pickup truck, so I think it's great.

Thank you! My wife and google translation will help me writing in English.:lol: My wife also helps with the truck... ;) After all, you've visited almost next door (Sweden) ;) Yes, here in Finland is the Chevy trucks, but they are almost all really rusty, so here may not be good for used parts. We have to subscribe to almost all parts of USA, and it will be very expensive.

What about my old 1999 V70? I drive this work and back home, does not really else. It is 2,5 tdi engine(a little bit tuned) and manual gearbox. Our daily driver is BMW E60 M-Sport.

Wow, I am very impressed with your interpreter. It is a blessing to be with a woman that supports this hobby. I don't expect to find a wife who is as supportive as yours. But I have broken up with girlfriends who were not happy with my car interest. In English we say your wife is a keeper. That that means you should take good care of her so that she will always be happy to be with you :)

Maybe you can write your posts in Finnish and then do a Google translation and copy it into English too. Then you can get your brother and other Finnish friends to join the Forum and read your updates.

I'm really blessed because I have such a wonderful wife! You can be sure that I will try my best to take good care of my wife. I'm sorry you and your girlfriend because of the difference, but better luck in the future.

Yes I am using google translator but I want to learn better English because I need English in my work in the future. My brother can be hard to get in here the forum but I'll tell greetings. I did not bother to tell my friends of these in my stories that they need not be ashamed of me so much. ;) ... They speak English well.

Yes, greetings to your brother from the USA. Your friends should be proud that you are brave enough to fix a truck with that much rust that's made in another country. And to write about it in a language that is not native to you. You've got our respect.

Thank you for your encouraging. All car makes what my hobbies are made somewhere else than in Finland. My own hobby car is the original BMW 325i E30 -89. Shared car with my friend, is built in Opel Corsa A 1.8 turbo intercooler. And then there is this Chevy with my brother. All are perfectly ideal to the nature.

You guys are doing a good job on the rust repair. It looks like you have done it before. I am familiar with the BMW you mentioned but what does the Opel Corsa look like?

Thank you! I haven´t welded very much earlier. I have restored 1 car earlier(my first car, about 20 years a go) and the few cars repaired. I´ll try to my best but it is slow.
That Opel Corsa is builted from 2 cars, Opel Corsa 1.2S and Opel Kadett 1.8 GT. Body is Corsa and technique is a Opel Kadett 1.8 GT+Garrett turbo+intercooler. We builted it about 12 years ago. It is fun to drive. ;) Unfortunately, its engine is broken at the moment. I don´t know can I put here a few pictures from Opel but I dry...
If I find some of the film where it accelerates 0-150 km / h, so I put it in here too.
