Small 1 gallon Jerry can set

Picked these up to mount on custom rear bumper. Never seen before. Shaped like typical Jerry can but only 1 gallon capacity. Maybe 14 inches tall. The set has two cans and a middle container that has various brushes.
Apparently west German nato for painting vehicles in the field. Wiw?
Was gonna fill one with fuel and one with coolant. Not rusty some scuffs
