235 head gasket options

I am rebuilding the cylinder head on my 1955 235 engine and I am about to make a choice on a head gasket witch head gasket is the choice for this engine, I hear it's best to do a original copper thick one, the mating surfaces look great and was thinking about not getting them resurfaced anyways what is you guys opinions.

Can't ever go wrong with Felpro Blue if you decide not to go with the original copper

I'd have to agree that I would go with Fepro Blue myself if I were changing one today.

I was thinking the felpro blue honestly bit wasn't sure if these engines was picky on what we use for head gasket

Felpro blue you usually don't re-torque, Copper you must re-torque after a break in period.

I don't think the engine is picky as to what gasket you run but the copper gasket usually calls for some sort of gasket sealer applied to both sides of the gasket like KW Copper Coat while the Fellpro blue has it's own sealer built in. Unless I am building a race engine that flat requires a certain thickness gasket to meet a specified compression point I'll run Fellpro blue gaskets every time.
