gap question
What do you guys have for gap between the top of the fender and the bottom of the cowl extension. I don't have any doors made and I'm welding all the pieces into one big fender so I need to figure out where they should go.
Thanks |

Re: gap question
You really need the doors to make sure both the fender and the cowl are set to match them before you weld. When you align the two pieces to the door that will set the gap and how far out both the parts are shimmed.

Re: gap question
Thanks for the help guys. My truck is a bit custom so the usual methods won't work for me. The cowl panel was aligned before disassembly and I will have to build doors to fit the opening. I just need the gap measurement to mount the fender.

Went through your build. Some great skills there. Let me know if you need any better pics.

Re: gap question
I looked through your thread and what a lot of work on that one. A lot of thought has gone into all the mods and great job on it. With the one hinge left on the door post you may want to take a door section and bolt it up the front and clamp the other section to the back and carry the body line out to the front. That will allow you to set the angle on the front fenders so they look nice and straight.
