Replacement Shock Recommendations

I'm looking to replace the shocks on my '65 C10 SWB and I'm looking for suggestions. All input is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Replacement Shock Recommendations

I just finished lowering my '63 SWB with 4" dropped coils in the rear and CPP 2 1/2" dropped spindles with 2" dropped coils in front.

I used these on the rear,

and these on the front.

Truck rides fantastic! Much smoother ride than
my 2013 GMC 1500 crew cab. I could not be happier.

Nice. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not one to lower a truck. If anything, I would raise it up a little. I'll admit though, some of the lowered trucks are pretty nice, but just not my thing.

I have used monroe matic shocks from Oreilly for years before I lowered the rear of Clyde. They were stock shock #'s

I just took a set of Monroe Magnums off my burb, they were decent shocks when new, i replaced them with Gabriel Max Controls on front and Gabriel HyJackers in the rear. I first set it up with one fill hose for both rear shocks, i didnt like the way the truck cornered, so i changed over to individual fills , i have only driven it around the block twice so far , but it does corner much better . I cant say if the Gabriels are better then the Monroes, but I wanted rear air shocks to gain a little lift, and found the Gabriels at a good price.

I have been through the KYB's and couple of others. The set that is on it now are the Ridetech street performance shocks and they are a leap above the others I have run.

I use Monroe Gas Magnums front and rear. They are pretty stout shocks. They handle well, but I think the trade off is that they are a bit of a stiff ride. All in all though I think they are good for the money.

I'm running a set of Belltech Street Performance front and rear on my 66 Suburban. I have logged 8K on them so far and I'm very happy with the ride and performance.
