1963 fleetside - rear rim width

Ok here goes. I know this has been covered a million times, but I've looked all over the forum and the web and I haven't been able to find a clear answer. Like the subject says, I have a 63 fleetside and it has a stock 12 bolt in it. I'm looking at putting a 15" wheel on the back of it that's 10" wide with a 4" offset. Will it fit without modifying the truck?

Thanks in advance! :chevy:

That depends on what tire you mount on the wheel and whether your truck is stock height or lowered.

I don't think a 15x10 with 4" backspace wheel will work. But, don't my word for it...make sure by removing one of the rear wheel/tire, jack the rearend housing up to ride height, and take your measurements with a straight edge and ruler.

Re: 1963 fleetside - rear rim width

I appreciate the feedback guys. I meant to mention that the truck is lowered 4" in the back. I didn't include the tire size because I'm not sure what size I'd need. I currently have 235/75R15 on the 8" wheels that are on it so I was looking for the same overall diameter if/when I put the 10" wheels on the back to keep my speedo close to correct. I've been to 2 tire shops and neither have had any luck finding anything that won't make the speedo like 10+ mph off. So it looks like I'm going to drop this idea for now.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

If you are still interested . I have a 65 GMC stepside and from the frame rail to the inside of the rear rim lip is 8". It is lowered with 4 of the leafs of the spring removed. Stock rims.
