I've been a member for quite awhile but never did much (any) posting. I'm sure I joined back when I had my 59 Apache SB but that's been gone for a few years...cool truck!

I've recently picked up an 89, 4wd 3/4ton suburban that I'm looking to turn into a capable exploration rig. It's got the usual faded roof, sagging headliner, slow windows, water on the floor issues  but it's solid and a great platform. Looking to do a small lift, some body armor and get the interior squeak free and comfortable for longer trips with my boys.

at least yours has a headliner to work with.... :D
mine's a 88 and that was about all that was missing. i saw a pic of a fellas rig that did a real nice wood headliner with some kind of tongue and groove slats. looked awesome but i bet its noisy.

I had a '91 K2500 Suburban awhile back. Wish I still had it.

Welcome back from another Washingtonian!

I've stripped the cloth and foam and am working on reattatching to the roof, if that works I'll just recover and call it good.....If it doesn't I've got another plan. The wood sounds like it would look nice but it'd be heavy. I'm a big fan of keeping weight down whenever possible, lighter is almost always better.
