Questions about my oil pressure gauge and feed line

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, I am hoping you can help me out on a couple of questions. I am working on getting all of my factory gauges reconnected and working again. When I bought my truck, the temp gauge, ammeter and oil pressure gauges were all disconnected. I'd like to get away from the three-gauge panel under my dash for a more stock look. Anyway, I have ordered a kit to convert the ammeter to a volt meter. Also, I have bought a new temp sender from Lectric Limited, I believe it is, and the wiring kit. The oil pressure gauge is next to look at. The needle is sitting at the half way mark, and if I gently move the needle, it is stiff either way. Is that normal? Or would a working gauge "zero" out without oil pressure driving it? And then lastly, does it look like I am missing anything with the mechanical line connection? Is this how it should be connected with my copper line kit? Thank you very much! Ned

Your connection seems to be correct and yes, it should zero when the engine isn't running. Oil gauge bad maybe? Connect it and run the engine and see what it does then, should zero out when shut off, if not, I'd say you have a bad gauge.

Could you guys recommend a member vendor who would be best to get a quality replacement from? Thanks!

Needle should rest at the "L" mark with no pressure on it. Fitting looks correct. Here is a thread I posted that has some info and line bending instructions. You would need 38" of line for a small block Chevy.....

Oh yes. In fact I'm buying a voltmeter conversion from him. I'll contact him about this too
