This just looks wrong.

Looking at the front air bags on my 67 Burban the top of the bag and the bottom of the bag are not lined up vertically. This just seems wrong. The PO has some kind of bracket welded in the upper spring pocket that the bag attaches to. Can any one tell me how far from in the outside edge the bag should be mounted? Or should the mount be tilted to the out side to line up better? I have some photos which aren't the best but hopefully the green lines will show what I'm seeing as a problem.
Thank you in advance for any help.

How does the bag sit when it is fully deflated? Typically on a custom job the top and bottom mounts would line up with the bag fully compressed but that may depend, I don't know how that works with the upper plates and lower bag pocket pieces on the stock replacement kits.

Thanks everyone for the feed back. I'm feeling better about it now. There has been a lot of things done incorrectly on my Burban and I was thinking this was another.

Sorry but it me again, that bag do not look right. I don't know if it's the bag not sitting correctly on the lower cup or the fact that the bags has lost their shape from sitting in the LCA without the cups for so long.

They were quite deformed. I yarded them out of the truck yesterday. Just plain worn out. I also believe they weren't mounted at the proper angle.

New bags, lines, new upper plates and new lower cups and you should be good to go. You can even cut down the new lower cups if you want.
Are those 1/2 inch lines? If so they can make airing up and down rough on the body and your ride.
Maybe check board member Way2low or BC fabrication. to see if they have a deal going on, if you don't already have some.
Btw, keep it up.

Just saw your post. The lines are 3/8". Its a no go on cutting down the lower cups at this point. When its aired out the new bag just touches the lower control arm. I have been able to find a lower arm set upo for bags that takes a stock sway bar. So at this point it looks like another fabrication project. Thanks for the encouragement. These air bags seem to be a never ending issue.

I got great help on here 4 yrs ago and went ahead to install a basic setup. Knocking on wood!!! I have had no problems at all.
It's harder to clean up someone else stuff but when you are done you should have a better piece of mind when using it.
