Square body trucks on car shows

Just sitting here watching gearz with Stacy David and he's starting an 85 k20 fall guy stunt double truck and garage squad did a nice k10 lwb a couple of weeks ago. Exciting to see this happening what do y'all think

It's obviously great ! Truck Tech also started a K5 Blazer build.... the only bad thing is those shows may not air the next episode for a few weeks.

I almost forgot about the k5 on truck tech, I think that's going to be a pretty neat project as well

I'm currently working on an 82 K5 Blazer and a frame off on an 81 C10 short box so I'm loving all the squares in recent car shows.

All good with the updates on taking truck to car (shows) to display them... But I think the thread was about our type trucks making it onto TV shows. TV car shows.

Myself, I have mixed feelings. I recently watched Stacy David and Gears episodes where he works on a square body. I'm sure money comes from the suppliers of the parts used, otherwise, probably no TV show. But he's throwing out good parts -- dash pad, instrument bezel -- so it's kinda hard to watch. And putting in tubular upper and lower A-arms and saying that since the 3 inch drop is designed in, you can reuse your springs and spindles and that's going to save you a lot of money. So it's kinda hard to listen to. From my perspective, you can buy new spindles only, that have a 3 inch drop, and that will save you a lot of money on tubular A-arms. All good with putting new parts from the sponsors on. Just maybe don't throw the good old parts in a pile and call them junk. And don't say that the new parts are going to save us money. But why am I writing this. It's TV. I'd rather follow guys' build threads on here to be honest. I don't mean to be a damper on the enthusiasm of seeing our trucks get air time though.

Good luck at that Elliot show, I've wanted to go there many times, I live on the west side of the lake so I'm not that far away

Seeing the trucks on these shows means there is enough aftermarket support for a company to sponsor the build and also show other companies these vehicles are being built and people want to spend money on them. Aftermarket support for the C10 chassis has grown quite a bit over the last few years and I think it will continue for quite a while. We'll see more of the C10 builds.

Goodguys car shows is planning to start allowing vehicles up to 85 next year from the 72 it has always been. They must have had that much interested people petition them that they see it's time.

Great show today. A very nice 54 chevy truck won our class. Lots of people talked my ear off about my truck and what year truck they owned in the past. It was a hit with the kids !!! I let many of them sit in it. A good day.
