I need to sell my 67 GMC stepside, where besides Craigslist?
I've reached the difficult decision that as much as I want to keep this, I need to let it go. I'm getting married, I have 2 kids and she has 2 kids ... time to get a suburban, tahoe or etc.
When I post on Craigslist I get strange offers. Where would you suggest I post a for sale Add? |

Uh... here... in the classifieds section. But you have to be a subscribing member to do so. :)
Also "Let Go", Ebay, autotrader... Gary |

Craigslist is full of flakes, and scammers. I always make my ad's clear that if they try to B.S. me, they will be ignored. Not the best salesmanship, I know, but it cuts down on the weirdos.
I also only accept text messages, so it's easier to weed out the real potential buyers from the jokes. When I listed my old Porsche, my phone went nuts. I couldn't keep up with it. I told the people that sounded serious a specific date to see the car because it was in storage and I wasn't going to sit around all day. When I got there, there was already one guy waiting for me and he started to try to negotiate the price down. Then a second guy pulled up with a trailer, and the first guy said I'll take it. Full price. I have cash. You just have to set your parameters. Don't deal with the idiots. That's why I like text messaging, I never had to talk to anyone, I made it on my terms and I sold the car in a few minutes after I got to the storage. |

Personal experience: More SCAMS on Let Go than Craigslist. With Let Go you have to use your Phone...No computer.

I sell on craigslist but don't ever post a phone number in the ad, I just use the craigslist anonymous email feature for initial contact. You can typically spot the scams just from the wording of the emails you receive. If I'm not sure about somebody I'll ask them a couple questions to see if they really have an interest before I give out a phone number.

No way am I going to meet someone I haven't talked to, even when packing. Every bad experience I have had on C/L had to do with texters. Never again. |

I get what you're saying, but I had so many idiots calling me and bugging me, and they weren't serious buyers. I finally got sick of it. I'm an honest person and I would hope my information would reflect that. And I expect the same from a potential buyer. If I lose a sale, so be it. |

Same here brother. I own a ski condo and I refuse to make a booking without a phone call. If a person is too anti-social to talk or too busy, they can rent from someone else. My compliments on your bringing a friend with you. I usually bring my friends Horace and Daniel most every time I step out the door. :) |

Does this truck run? Put a "For Sale" sign on it and drive it places, park it out, shows, swap meets... Trade it for a Suburban.
Craigslist is a great place to sell local. Just handle it like it is your deal to be carried out on your terms and you will get it sold. |
