need help identifying truck's rear end - posi

according to the glove box lid my truck has a posi rear end in it - assuming that it has never been changed with the previous owner claiming it had a posi in it and also it not looking like it has been changed , i would like to know what gear it is or what gear these trucks came with with a posi rear end - anyone know where i can look to identify (numbers?) - it is a 71 swb - thanks, Brent

There is a series of numbers stamped on the top of the R/H axle tube. What you need is the first 3 letters. With this information I can look in my master parts catolog and give you the ratio and wether or not it is a possi or not. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Wes.. is there a number that states the ratio also?

The letters and numbers do not give you the ratio. However cirtain letters, for example TKA is a 3.54 power lock rear end for a 71 C-10. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
