Quick clutch throw out bearing question
Getting ready to install a SBC back into the frame of my truck (it has a SM465 bell-housing and transmission) and had a quick question. Is there supposed to be any kind of retainer or spring that goes on with the throw out bearing when I slide it onto the clutch fork, or does it just slide onto the fork and remain held in place by the trans shaft?
I don't want it to rattle around if it needs something to secure it. Posted via Mobile Device |

No springs...

Re: Quick clutch throw out bearing question
Some of them have a spring steel bracket that slips behind the throw out bearing to hold it to the clutch fork.

Re: Quick clutch throw out bearing question
on our old trucks, just the throw out fork sliding into the groove on the throwout bearing...the only spring clip holds the throwout fork on the ball
