Looking for input on sound systems

Getting to the point where I need to think about stereo and sound system.

Heres what Im thinking about doing. Ill probably get a radio from ClassicParts.com, one of the stock looking types with blu-tooth and aux capabilities. I'm thinking about getting a set of monospeakers for the stock dash location from Brothers, are those of good quality?

I'm also probably going to put a box behind the seat with some smaller sized subs, will the radio I'm looking at handle this?

Any suggestions on my setup ideas? I've never done a sound system before but I know I can with the right direction.

I'm considering one of those classic styled but new functionality stereo as well the company I was looking at was Retrosound. It is quite a bit more money then just buying a modern one but I am a sucker for the look of the old radio. I am not sure how good the mono speaker will sound but I guess it depends on your expectations, you can also get a underseat subwoofer as well.

If you have the OG stereo, there are guys that can convert them to new electronics including bluetooth, USB and hands free calling.

My truck had a square hole so I just put a nice kenwood in with kick panels speakers and 6x9 in boxes under the seat with an amp.

I bought a Retrosound from jegs or summit, I don't remember which, but it was much cheaper that purchasing direct from Retrosound.

I'm seriously considering taking the radio out of the dash, put in a radio delete plate, and mount a new stereo inside my console. That way there won't be anything visible for some lowlife to try and steal.

Just a thought, most of the stereo imaging in music comes from the very high frequencies, so I would be willing to bet if you installed one of those dual center speakers like retrosound sells in the stock location, then put some small tweeters on top of the dash at the sides of the cab, and some good 6x9s under the seat, it would be pretty hard to tell that there's only one full size speaker in the front. That way you get stereo sound without having to cut holes for speakers and it would be almost stock in appearance.
