Temp gauge question

1 Attachment(s)
Today I installed a new Lectric Limited temp sensor with new wiring. At full warm-up my factory gauge reads as shown. Does this seem normal? The aftermarket gauge I am eliminating shows 180 at full temperature. Just trying to find out if it might be defective (the original gaug). Thanks

Re: Temp gauge question

It has been said that the aftermarket gauge sensors read low, call that reading 180 and higher is hot

Thank you, yes that works.. I'll search some of the old threads on the subject to see what others have seen.

That is the normal operating temp for my 71Super for the last 38 years.

Mine normally reads just a bit higher than that.

Re: Temp gauge question

That looks exactly right for a 180 thermostat
