Help Identifying Plug
This plug was just hanging out by the bell housing on my sons 1970 c30 402/th400 truck. (yes it has a 350 in the picture while we build the 402) Can you guys help me understand what it should be plugged in to? The orange wire goes to the transmission, Im guessing kick down solenoid? Is there a kickdown switch I am missing that this goes to? The truck doesn't kick down when you floor the throttle. Thanks in advance!

Re: Help Identifying Plug
OK, if I understand it- you have a SBC 350 in it, and a 400 THM trans? That is the plug for the kick down. Do you have the switch off the 400 engine to put on the 350?

Re: Help Identifying Plug
Thanks guys!
Yes 350 sbc with TH400. I just swapped the 402 out and the 350 in and that switch harpo posted was not on the 402. The truck had a very rough rough quadrajet on the 402 when we bought it and I put a new Edelbrock carb on it. I moved the Edelbrock carb to the 350 we just swapped in. Will the kick down switch mount up with an Edelbrock intake manifold and carb on the 350? |
Re: Help Identifying Plug
I don't think the OEM switch will work, but Edelbrock and B&M both sell kits for a kickdown switch.
