dana 60 spacer to fit hubcaps

Sorry, I cannot find the thread I saw a while back, am looking for offset spacer plate to be bolted onto rear hub so I can fit the 73+ yrs hubcaps over those big dana 60's that stick way out.

There must be different Dana60 rear hubs because I have no problem running the 73-75 hubcaps on my K2500 with Dana60. I prefer the later cocave with no black paint and that's what I have always run on my '72

Re: dana 60 spacer to fit hubcaps

those caps look period correct for a 3/4 ton. the half ton caps are much shallower and won't clear the 3/4 dana 60 hub.

its not just for that reason, i run tall skinny 235/85r-16 tires and they would look better if they weren't so tucked in the rear wheel wells, there are lots of spacer plates but some are better than others, anyone know of which brands are well made and applicable to our old C20's ?

1/2 ton caps are too small a diameter for 3/4 ton wheels anyway, the 3/4 ton caps from 69-75 will fit over your rear end. 69-72 were chrome outies (i.e. convex center emblem), whereas 73-75 were stainless, some were innies and some were outies. Just paint the center emblem Krylon "True Blue" if you use a 73+ cap and you're good to go. 1st pic is a true 69-72 chrome 3/4 ton PO3 "outie". Pic 2 is a 73-75 stainless 3/4 ton PO3 "innie", with bow tie painted. Both trucks had D60s and the caps clear fine - there is no need for a spacer to bump the wheel out with either an innie or an outie 3/4 cap from 69-75.

EDIT: I'm not tracking where the 1/2 ton comment is coming into play(?) Can you confirm you're talking about a 3/4 ton or above 8 lug rear? If you just want to space out the rear to move the tires out in the wheelwell, then that's a different story - but it's not necessary to make concave PO3 3/4 ton caps fit over a D60.

Post 8 has a link to a reputable spacer mfgr.

That's a 76+ 3/4 ton front 4x4 cap, but you probably already know that :)

Re: dana 60 spacer to fit hubcaps

Those hub caps are 77-91 truck caps as well as the 77-95 Van caps which used a 14 bolt rear. The Dana 60 has a longer hub than a 14 bolt.

Thanks
