Real Truckin

Put my 63 shorty to some real work last weekend towing a rental loader/backhoe. The L'il Torquey 305 did the job but here in hill country North Carolina I confess to wishing for a big block once or twice. A granny 4spd would have been better than the Camaro T5, too!

Re: Real Truckin
You towed that with a T5?! Wow, you are the man! How fast?

Re: Real Truckin
I'd be cringing towing that with a t5. lol Man it'd be fun to put your 305 v8 against my 305 v6 towing the same load.

Re: Real Truckin
Nice!! Back in the 80's my '62 belonged to my brother and he towed bobcat everyday for the construction company he worked for.

Re: Real Truckin
No problem towing with a T5. I towed my race car and trailer with the 292 and T5. Just don't abuse it and make sure you keep the fluid level correct.

Only about 15 miles and I never got above 3rd gear or 40 mph on secondary roads. The best thing I did was to install the Slam 7 air bags in the rear beforehand. The OG springs had been "torch lowered" -no Bueno. |
