Anyone have an Electric fan between rad and condensor?
 

I'd like to add an electric fan for "emergency stuck in traffic on a hot day" situations. However, the only place I have is between the radiator and the AC condensor, and that's only about 3" of space, if that.

I thought maybe someone else has already gone down that path and found something that fits, so:

Does anyone know of a fan that will fit in that space?

I have never seen anybody install a fan between the condenser and radiator. However, there are low profile fans on the market that will fit in there. Are you wanting it to be a pusher or puller? Seems that with both sides obstructed with a radiator core, the fan will have a hard time generating good flow. BTW, I run dual electric puller fans on my radiator (no mechanical fan), and have a an auxiliary pusher fan mounted to the front of my A/C condenser. Only need the auxiliary to help out the A/C performance when pulling a grade with a trailer.

Thanks... If you know of a brand name or part number to search, let me know! It needs to be a pusher in my case.

I don't have a cooling problem except on hot days idling for a long time, like 20+ minutes of traffic, it'll creep without coming back down. I just want it as a thin safety net for towing, etc.

What about this guy? Thin and small and a pusher, but only rated at 590cfm:

It's a SPAL though and I've had good luck and heard good things about them in general.

I saw that SPAL has 9" fan with curved blades with higher CFM. I also saw 10" and 11" fans with a lot more CFM. What not use one of those?

I wound up going with one of the SPAL 12" pusher fans that they rate at 861cfm. I'm hoping it fits (though worst case I can likely space my condensor out a bit I guess). The space available between the two heat exchangers tapers as you go down, so I wasn't sure a big one would fit... we shall see and I'll report back once I've tried it!
