Re: Average cost of triangulated 4 Link
Yeah 3k is cheap since its a lot of labor hours. Why not use a bolt in 4 link kit so you can do it yourself and spend less?

Re: Average cost of triangulated 4 Link
Theres bolt in systems like http://www.bcfab.com/73-87-Chevy-C10...em_p_1818.html http://www.ridetech.com/store/ridete...73-87-c10.html and http://www.cachassisworks.com/c-1139...r-air-bag.aspx also keep in mind some 4 links won't work with the factory side saddle gas tanks so do your homework before buying one if that matters to you.

Re: Average cost of triangulated 4 Link
I have not seen that BC Fab kit before. Looks nice.
Like Andrew said it will be hard to find someone to install it cheap. Have you checked with the local car clubs in the area? I know a few guys in my local clubs who work out of their garage and do some quality work for half the price of the local shops. Remember you are often paying by the hour. You can definitely do some work to make the install cheaper. Are you willing to do the wrenching yourself? If you pull the bed, clean everything, buy the kit, and spend a good amount of time looking around I am sure you will find someone who could do it cheaper. I'd rather do the work myself then pay someone else 100 bucks an hour to take my bed off and degrease the frame. |

If you really want a 4 link, there is a simple answer and its reasonably priced. RideTech offers a bolt on 4 link that easy to install. I have been running one under my 77 Cheyenne for many years and have had no issues with it. |
Re: Average cost of triangulated 4 Link
Only time i can see a triangulated 4 link being great is on a rock crawler/off road.A bagged truck i rather have a parallel 4 link like that ride tech kit and the longer the links the better the ride. The big thing is air ride is not cheap and if you try to cut corners it comes back on you and you end up spending double in the end to do it over right this time.

Re: Average cost of triangulated 4 Link
The suspension for my Jeep was 100% designed and built by me and I have $3,000 in it. I know a rock crawler is not an apples to apples comparison, but the point is 4 links can get pricey. By the time you buy the tubing, brackets, rod ends, shocks, bags, and air ride components I would think $3k is a bargain.

Re: Average cost of triangulated 4 Link
If it's layin low nobody is ever gonna see it. I would cheap out and use some really soft leaf springs. I'm not a lowrider so I don't know why leaf springs can't be used.

On my 77 Cheyenne we originally used a Air Over Leaf (AoL) system. All but the two top leafs were removed from the spring pack. Air bag were installed outboard of the frame. This system worked just fine till I decided to upgrade to a RideTech 4 link. |
