1972 blazer
3 Attachment(s)
I'm looking at buying a 1972 blazer with the typical rocker panel rust and quarter panel rust. It has been sitting for ten years and will need a full restoration. It is complete minus the radiator. The blazer has air, tach, tilt and is a cst. He wants 1500$. I do have a shop and the skills. Nothing is showing that it isn't a numbers matching vehicle. Any advice? I'm considering buying it and putting it into storage until I have the funds to start a teardown.

Re: 1972 blazer
For $1500 might be worth it. Montana is a bit easier on trucks that the midwest with regard to rust. If everything is there - you could part it out and make at least that in selling parts from it to others.

Jump on that.

A bird in the hand... For $1500 it's not going to hurt as an investment. Just realize that if you're storing it long-term none of the rust is going to get any better, and it could get a lot worse, depending on your storage conditions.

Re: 1972 blazer
$1500 doesn't sound too bad for that truck. I mean it sounds like you realize you're gonna have to spend a buttload for a complete restoration, so at least you don't have your head in the clouds about it. Also, waiting till you have the funds to restore a truck is kinda like putting off having kids until you're financially ready...it never happens. My advice is to get a loan and knock that sucker out. You make it better than a new truck and you'll never regret it.

Re: 1972 blazer
I'd buy it. Just remember - the longer you pay for storage, the less financial sense it makes to buy it. You could end up paying $6000 in storage fees over 5 years (assuming $100 per month) for your $1500 Blazer for a total of $7500. That is not a good deal.

If you don't want it I do :)
Let me know if you back out, my uncles are in Montana and I need an excuse for a trip. |
Re: 1972 blazer
Should be worth that in parts. If you pass on it, let me know a number for it.

He ended up selling it before I got back to him. He also had a1972 blazer that was hit by a tree. Literally not much there. It has a good frame, drivetrain minus the engine, no front clip. It does have ac and a title. I think he would let it go for cheap. Hit me up and I could get you his number. On the bright side I bought this one owner beauty instead.
