Has anyone had GOOD experience with the FiTech Fuel Command Center?
I see a lot of negativity and repeat posts from a lot of the same people about problems with the FiTech Fuel Command Center. I have seen a few posts on some of those lengthy threads that said "Mines running fine" or "No problems with the FCC for me". It gets me wondering if this is a case of the negative experiences getting all the press and the positive experiences being overshadowed.
I'm only asking because in January I purchased a GoEFI 4 system for my GM 350HO and went with the Fuel Command Center for the seemingly simple solution to fuel supply. Life has gotten in the way and I have not installed the system yet. Maybe that's a good thing. Right now I am second guessing my decision and would love some feedback from anyone who has had good luck running the FCC. Did you have to do anything special to get it to work? I have heard that regulating the low pressure pump down to 4psi helps, then some say it doesn't. Some say that if there is a non-restricted return from the vent back to the tank, that it will not have any issues. There's always the debate on whether the owner with the issues had installed the FCC too close to a heat source in the engine compartment and the owner always adamantly denies that as a possibility, even if it's obviously mounted within inches of the exhaust. Any experience with the FCC unit will be appreciated. |

From the little that I have read, the feed pressure is what they are sensitive about, along with fuel temperature. I've read where guys have run the fuel through a cooler before it goes into the FCC to try to keep it cool. I have an old Ford class C motorhome that is going to get a Fitech and I'm going to run the FCC.

Re: Has anyone had GOOD experience with the FiTech Fuel Command Center?
I know what you mean. I have had my GoStreet and FCC for over a year and haven't installed it due to all the issues I keep reading. I don't want to make a fairly reliable car, unreliable. Most issues seem to be due to heat or the float system in the FCC hanging up and blocking fuel flow. The high pressure pump starves and ends up killing itself in short order.
It seems that a solution that is working well for some is to remove the float system and pump the "vent" from the FCC as a return line. This way the low pressure side is always recirculating fuel back to the tank and not allowing it to heat up as much. I am seriously looking at doing this and running a regulator at 4 psi. Since this is for my El Camino, I already have a hard return line back to the tank from the original charcoal canister. Make doing this really easy I am disappointed that something so simple, has been a source of many folks headaches. I love the FCC idea but it seems it hasn't lived up to what it should have. |

I have had zero issues with my Fitech. I've had it since February 2016.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of pressure are these units looking for to run correctly?
